Looking back through old blog posts is agonising. Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally not ashamed of anything I’ve written, but a few old posts enthusiastically blabber about starting a new leaf and getting fit and healthy and then… nada. Did you hear that?
It’s me falling off the wagon. Chances are you’re reading this thinking, “I didn’t even know Lissa had a blog!” Yep. That’s because I didn’t want to tell anyone about it. Nice move Lissa.
As a bit of a history lessson, Kettlebelle was founded in 2011 and, completely down to me, it never
really took off. It’s painful to remember how much I neglected it and so easy to make excuses about why it happened, but truth be told I wasn’t getting any readers. I didn’t know how to market my blog and get a following, and I was scared about what people would think.
Can you hear that tiny violin?
After some humming and hawing, and a heart to heart with myself over some peppermint tea, I decided to put my fears to bed and try again. Only this time, the content wouldn’t be so restricted. A little bit of food, some make-up and the odd kettlebell post, expect a much bigger variety of content about some really random stuff. Anyone who knows me knows my make-up
obsession collection is ridiculous. How has it actually taken this long for the eureka moment that I should be writing about it? Who knows. Perhaps I’ll write about organising my kitchen cupboards or hanging canvases. I won’t be restricting myself any time soon.
Although tempted to delete my old content for that ‘fresh start feel’, I want to remember where my blog came from. It might make me cringe, but it’s here to stay. For now you can expect make up, health, fitness, recipes and general lifestyle, with the odd restaurant or furniture polish review. I’ll embrace the make-up meltdowns, bad hair days and vulgar pumpkin pancakes to bring you exciting babble you can relate to.
Working with my very talented beau Chris, Kettlebelle has transitioned over to weelissa and undergone a drastic makeover, focusing on maximising my exposure on t’internet, integrating with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and trying to achieve a fresh and simple design. Just a week after launching my weelissa Facebook page, I’ve already had 172 likes which is just nuts and I’m grateful for each and every one of them. Sincerely. If you want to follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook, the links are up a bit and to the right. My chat is sometimes random, but variety is the spice of life, isn’t it?
I do hope you enjoy my new blog. Tell all your friends and get in touch if you have any feedback or ideas. I’d love to hear from you even if it’s just to say bonjour.
Until then, eat avocados and wear pink lipstick every day.
