Morphe 35W eyeshadow palette : A Review

Morphe 35W palette

I’m scared of eyeshadow. I never quite look like the girls on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Instagram and, when I create a dramatic eye, it’s often more Halloween than Hollywood. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the worst, but my lack of skill means I play it safe.

A quick look at my collection, and there’s a definite theme of neutral, brown shades because you just can’t go wrong with them. I’ve wanted to try new colours for ages, but spending £40 on a new palette only to bury it with my dodgy drugstore finds, isn’t that appealing. So, when I saw Morphe made 35 shadow palettes for under £16, I couldn’t resist.

So here’s the Morphe 35W palette:

I know what you’re thinking — there’s a lot of brown in that palette, and you’re right. But there’s also some lovely oranges and purples, It’s all about baby steps.

The packaging is black plastic, nothing too special, but I did only pay £15.95 so I can’t be too upset at the lack of mirror. Can I?

The colours are beautiful and *most* of them are really pigmented. The matte colours are a little dusty so you do have to pack quite a lot on to get a ‘pop’. The colours blend well and they feel quite creamy, but not as creamy as pricier alternatives like the Naked palettes. I use the Mac 217 to blend ’cause it’s the bomb. The good news is there’s little fallout and these shadows certainly pass the longevity test as they don’t budge throughout the day.

All in all, a pretty good investment. However, one thing I will say is, after doing some research, I discovered Morphe private labels Crown Brush products. This means Morphe don’t own factories, they pay Crown Brush to use their products and re-label them as Morphe. It’s perfectly legal, but for a similar price you can get the Crown Brushes palettes with a mirror inside…

Have you tried the Morphe palettes?
